Anambra State is located in the South East of Nigeria and is one of the smallest but most densely populated states. Known as the 'Light of the Nation,' the state is famous for its highly educated and commercially active population. Onitsha, home to one of the largest markets in Africa, is the commercial capital. The state has a rich Igbo cultural heritage and is home to many prominent Nigerians including Chinua Achebe (born in Ogidi) and Charles Soludo, the current governor and former Central Bank Governor.
