About Delta State

Delta State is located in the Niger Delta region of southern Nigeria. It is one of the largest oil-producing states in the country, with significant petroleum and natural gas reserves. The state capital, Asaba, is located on the western bank of the Niger River. Delta State is ethnically diverse, home to the Urhobo, Isoko, Ijaw, Itsekiri, and Anioma peoples among others. Warri, the commercial capital, is an important port city and oil industry hub.
